PUT SIMPLY

Privacy Policy & Terms

Last updated August 26, 2026

Put Simply explains trending news simply and clearly. This page covers what the app does with your data, and the terms for using it — there's less here than most apps' policies, because Put Simply doesn't have accounts and doesn't track you.

Privacy Policy

Overview

The short version

Put Simply has no sign-up and no accounts. Your reading streak, saved stories, and preferences live only on your own phone. The app talks to our server to fetch today's news content and, if you allow it, to receive push notifications. It also uses Google Firebase to tell us if the app crashes and to measure basic usage patterns like which screens get opened — never anything that identifies you personally.

What we collect

Information the app handles

Your preferences and activity stays on your device

Saved stories, digests, and magazine issues; your reading streak; which digest categories you've read; your language choice; light/dark appearance; and whether notifications are on. All of this is stored using your phone's own local app storage. We never receive it, see it, or store a copy of it ourselves.

Content requests standard network activity

Opening the app requests today's Stories, Digest, and Magazines from our server. Like any app or website request, this carries your device's IP address and basic technical metadata (e.g. which language you requested). We don't attach a personal identifier to these requests or build a profile from them.

Push notifications optional, via Google Firebase

If you allow notifications, your device subscribes to a notification topic named after your chosen language only (for example, "English" or "Hindi") — not anything that identifies you personally. This uses Firebase Cloud Messaging, a Google service; Google's own handling of the technical data involved is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

Fonts and images standard network activity

The app loads typefaces from Google Fonts and story illustrations from our content delivery, the same way any app loads remote assets — this involves a normal network request but no personal data.

Crash reports and app usage via Google Firebase

Firebase Crashlytics automatically reports a crash's technical details (device model, OS version, and the error itself) if the app fails, so we can fix it. Firebase Analytics logs which screens you open and a few in-app milestones (like completing a day's Digest) so we can tell whether features are actually useful. Both are tied to an anonymous, per-install device identifier — never your name, email, or anything else that identifies you as a person. As part of using Firebase Analytics, the app has the technical capability to access your device's advertising ID, though we don't use it to personalize or target ads — Put Simply has no ads. Google's own handling of this data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

What we don't collect

No accounts, no tracking

  • No name, email, phone number, or account of any kind
  • No location tracking
  • No advertising SDKs
  • No ad personalization or targeting
  • No payment information — the app is free
  • No third-party ads

Sharing

When you share a story

Tapping Share creates an image of the story card directly on your device and hands it to whichever app you pick — WhatsApp, Instagram, X, Messages, or anything else — through your phone's own share sheet. We never see, receive, or store that image ourselves; what happens to it after that is between you and the app you shared it to.

Your control

Retention and deletion

Because your saved items, streak, and preferences live only on your device, you're already in full control of them: clearing the app's storage or uninstalling Put Simply deletes all of it, immediately and completely. There's no separate account for us to delete on your behalf, because none exists.

Content

Content accuracy

Stories, digests, and magazines are written by AI from multiple news sources. They're great for a quick, clear catch-up, but we don't guarantee they're complete or error-free — for anything you need to rely on exactly, it's worth checking the original sources.

Children

Children's privacy

Put Simply is a general news app and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children, and given the app collects no personal information from anyone, there's nothing collected from a child's use of it either.

Updates

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Terms & Conditions

Agreement

Before you use this app

By downloading or using Put Simply, you agree to these terms. If you're under the age required in your country to agree to terms like these on your own, please have a parent or guardian review them with you first.

The app

What this app is

Put Simply summarizes trending news into short, AI-written stories, digests, and magazines, gathered from multiple independent sources per topic. There's no sign-up — every feature is available as soon as you open the app.

Changes

Changes to the app and these terms

Features may be added, changed, or removed at any time, and these terms may be updated as the app changes — we'll update the date above when that happens. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the update.

License

Using the app

You're given a personal, non-commercial license to use Put Simply for reading news content. Don't use the app for anything illegal, don't try to access parts of it you're not meant to, and don't scrape, redistribute, or resell its content or reverse-engineer the app itself.

Support

Reporting a problem

If something in the app looks wrong, broken, or inappropriate, contact putsimply.app@gmail.com and we'll look into it.

Ending use

Ending your use

You can stop using the app anytime by uninstalling it — since there's no account, that's the whole process. We may also change or discontinue the app at any time.

Ownership

Intellectual property

The "Put Simply" name, logo, and the app's own AI-written stories, digests, and magazines belong to the app's developer. The underlying news events they're based on, and any linked source articles, remain the property of their original publishers.

Data

Privacy

How the app handles data is covered by the Privacy Policy above.

Disclaimer

No warranties, and our liability

Stories, digests, and magazines are AI-written from source articles — they're meant for a quick, clear catch-up, not as a guaranteed-accurate record. The app is provided "as is," without warranty that it will always be available, error-free, or perfectly accurate. To the extent the law allows, the developer isn't liable for losses arising from your use of the app or reliance on its content — for anything you need to rely on exactly, check the original sources.

Legal

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
